This project was built adjacent to the Mountain Course in the Bighorn Golf Club, Palm Desert, California, in the foothills of the Santa Rosa Mountains.

The desert is open space and long views, but also the close-up, detailed perfection of the cactus flower. It is nature’s serene minimalism. This is the setting for our project inside the gated community of The Vintage in Indian Wells, California.

LED lights are an increasingly popular addition to the interior decor and exterior landscape design of luxury modern homes. With their wide variety of colors, LEDs can turn a room into a sensory experience, and set the mood in both indoor and outdoor spaces. 

We are very pleased to be working again with renowned sculptor Richard Erdman. Our first partnership was for our Trousdale project, where his Serenade presides over the entrance.

It is always our ambition for our clients to experience an emotional and sensory reaction upon entering a house of our design. “Ahh” and “Wow,” mean we’ve succeeded.

Whipple Russell Architects has built many houses over the years in both Beverly Hills and the Hollywood Hills above Sunset Boulevard.

The modern earth sheltered house is primarily built into the side of a hill or berm with a glass aperture providing illumination for the space.

Once again, an entertainment talent will inhabit one of our houses in the Hollywood Hills.
